Every business has a beginning.
Mine did not begin with investment, a detailed business plan or a perfectly mapped-out strategy.
It began with one simple thought:
There has to be more to life than this.
For years, I worked in a job I was good at. I learned new skills, solved problems, supported businesses and took pride in doing my work well.
But somewhere along the way, something changed.
I no longer enjoyed it.
I found myself waking up every day to an environment that drained my energy instead of inspiring it. I realised I was spending my time building somebody else’s future while putting my own dreams on hold.
That was when I made a decision.
If I wanted a different future, I had to build it myself.
More than another business
JKN Creative Studio was not created because I wanted to start “just another business”.
It was created because I wanted freedom: the freedom to create, to keep learning, to spend my time building something I believed in—and to help other people do the same.
Why community became part of the vision
As I started creating my own projects, I found talented artists, authors, musicians, makers and small business owners facing the same challenge: amazing ideas, but trying to figure everything out alone.
That is why JKN has grown into more than a creative studio. It is becoming a place where creators can learn, collaborate, celebrate one another’s wins and build businesses together.
Success does not have to be a solo journey.
The Creator Circle and Founding Forty were born from that belief: encouragement instead of competition, shared knowledge instead of gatekeeping, and a place where one person’s progress can inspire the next.
The business I needed
Looking back, I realise I was not just creating a business. I was creating the place I wish had existed when I first started.
A place where creators could ask questions, find collaborators, celebrate wins and realise they were not building alone.
