People often ask me why I colour.
The truth is simple:
It helps quiet the noise.
If you are a parent, you will probably understand.
Before I have even finished my first coffee, my brain is already running through the day’s mental checklist.
School runs. Work. Shopping. Dinner. Bath time. Housework. Emails. Appointments.
Have I replied to that message? Did I put the washing on? Did I take it out again? What is for dinner? Has everybody got what they need?
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I am apparently supposed to remember to look after myself too.
It is exhausting.
A little space where my brain slows down
Colouring became the one place where everything went quiet for a while.
I stopped thinking about tomorrow’s list and focused on one small decision: what colour should the next flower be?
No pressure. No deadlines. No emails.
Just markers, paper and a little bit of peace.
Built for real life
Kailah Jasmine is not about creating perfect artwork. It is about creating moments.
Moments when your phone is not buzzing. Moments when you are not rushing to the next thing. Moments when you remember what it feels like to simply enjoy being creative.
Sometimes the washing does not get folded. Sometimes dinner is frozen pizza. Sometimes your coffee goes cold three times before you drink it.
And sometimes the only thing you manage to do for yourself all day is colour one page.
That still counts.
